Netier Technologies Endorses Inside Out Networks USB-to-Serial Converters for use with NetXpress Thin Client SolutionAUSTIN, Texas (May 8, 2000) Inside Out
Networks, the leading provider of Universal Serial Bus (USB) connectivity solutions, has
successfully passed Netier Technologies extensive interoperability laboratory
certification requirements. This certification assures users complete compatibility when
connecting Netier's NetXpress solid state access devices to Inside Out Networks
Edgeport Series of USB-to-serial converters. USB is quickly becoming the de facto standard for external port expansion and peripheral attachment, endorsed by all of the major PC manufacturers. USB provides users a plug-and-play connection method, eliminating the need for an internal card slot. Inside Out Networks is the only USB manufacturer to offer support for all major PC operating systems, including Windows 95/98, 2000, CE, NT, Windows NT Embedded, Mac ® OS 8.5 and Linux. According to Stephen Popovich, president and chief executive officer of Inside Out Networks, "The next generation of cost-effective, easier-to-use thin client and legacy-free PCs require external expansion to connect serial devices such as bar code scanners, touch screen monitors, credit card readers, receipt printers, etc., in order to create a complete business solution. This confirmation of compatibility between our respective products provides a solid, verified solution for our customers." "We want to give our customers the highest degree of confidence in Netier products, while assuring interoperability when other manufacturers peripherals are part of their overall solution" explained Jim Crocco, chief operating officer of Netier Technologies. "Netier's NetXpress solid-state access devices utilizing Inside Out Network's Edgeport converter creates a comprehensive solution for many business applications, including Point of Sale (POS), industrial control and remote access."
